How to align the passion of your mission to strategic implementation

Hopefully, your team joined your organization for your clearly stated mission, vision, and core values.

The passion for your mission is what attracted them to you.

Unfortunately, when it comes to implementing strategy, often the focus is exclusively on tactical execution. And that is a missed opportunity to best align your team’s passion for your mission w/ the #execution steps of strategic implementation.

To tie strategic priorities back to the passion of your mission, follow these steps:

1) Write out your “To” statement. i.e., “To leverage technology, & training to automate & accelerate our acquisition function…”

2) Next, align your mission with a “So that” statement. i.e., “So that we create business leaders who make flying, fighting, & winning, airpower possible.”

3) Lastly, put these two statements together to form your strategic objective.

Boom – There you go. To leverage technology & training to automate & accelerate our acquisition function so that we develop business leaders who make flying, fighting, & winning airpower more possible.
